Well, if this hasn’t been the longest decade ever! I have neglected this blog for quite some time and an update is long overdue. With the shutdown of Ohio, I postponed all spring sessions until things started to reopen. And I was hesitant to open up to new appointments until I had a better idea of what this was all going to look like. I moved the spring Camera Basics workshops to June and we did have a beautiful day to be outside. We did a week-long photography challenge inside a private group and that was fun, too. All in all, challenging times that force us to pivot can be positive as we learn new ways to do things.
As it stands now, it looks like social distancing and masks might be here for the forseeable future. I figure it’s about time to make an official statement as to how things will go for the next few months at least.
Photography Sessions
Not a whole lot will change with the way I conduct sessions since they have always been by appointment only. However, I am limiting my in-home studio sessions to newborns only at this time. If you are wanting a photo session this fall, you will need to be one of my VIPs as the schedule will be opening on a first-come first-served basis only to those on that email list. Not on that list yet? No worries, you can take care of that here: Become a VIP.
Families and High School Senior Sessions will be on-location only. If you would like some indoor-style shots, my backdrop stand and lights are portable, so I am happy to set that up in your garage (so that it is sheltered from the elements and/or wind).
For my newborn families: There has always been at least 24 hours between sessions. And not much is changing with santizing the studio area as these protocols were already in place to protect your baby’s developing immune system. Everything is wiped down, laundered (or sanitized, for things that can’t be laundered). Only immediate family will be permitted to be present. And you should make arrangements to take the siblings home after the family portion of the session is done. For more information on safety protocols, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Beginner Photography Classes
Due to scheduling outside, I have moved the summer camera classes to September. Hopefully, by then the temps will be a bit more comfortable. We will again have a Beginners class and an Intermediate class on September 19. Some people do both all in one day. (I recommend this if you are or were familiar with the basics, but you would like a refresher course. There’s a discount when you bundle both classes together in the same day.) You can get more information or register for my Uniontown photography classes here.
I appreciate you all so much, and thank you for understanding that these times called for some adjustment-making. You all are the best!
