I had just been thinking that it’s time for another graduated senior interview. And then one of my graduated seniors got in touch a couple of weeks ago with a special request. But before I share what the request was, let me tell you what Jonathan’s been up to in this second installment of Where Are They Now?
Where are They Now? – Interview with Jonathan
What year did you graduate high school?
I graduated high school in 2015.
What was your favorite thing about having me do your senior portraits?
I loved that you helped me incorporate all of my interests into my photos. You are so kind and it was easy for me to see that you genuinely cared.

What did you do after high school?
After school I attended the University of Akron where I studied Sport Management.
Where are you living now?
I am still living at home, but currently looking for apartments in the Akron area.
What are you doing right now?
I am finishing up my last semester of school and will be graduating in August. I am currently interning with the Akron RubberDucks and the Columbus Crew SC.
Any words of wisdom for the Class of 2019?
For the seniors I’d say, don’t worry if you don’t know what you want to do. Sometimes I still don’t. College is a great time to learn about who you are and to get out of your comfort zone.
And now for Jonathan’s special request…
“I know this is short notice, but I’m proposing to my girlfriend on Saturday… and I was wondering if you would be able to help me capture the special moment.” Well, it just so happened that I was free on Saturday, and was very excited to photograph this proposal! We met a couple days later to do a walk-through at Firestone Park and it was so fun to hear him talk about how special McKenna is. And I enjoyed catching up with all he’s been up to, as well.
High school sweethearts, Jonathan and McKenna have been together for 6 years now. They are planning the wedding for next summer. Jonathan said, “I am really excited for McKenna and I to plan out our wedding. I am really excited for the surprises this stage of life brings!” You can see the rest of their proposal and engagment photos here.
Both Jonathan and McKenna have a genuine love for Christ and a heart for missions. In fact, they both want to use their talents to minister through therapy with sports and art someday. Isn’t that awesome?!
Thanks Jonathan for sharing what you are up to these days!
I thoroughly enjoyed photographing the proposal and your engagment photos. And I am praying for many blessings on the two of you and your future together.
