This morning, the school nurse called to tell me Ethan was in the clinic with a headache. I wasn’t really surprised because he woke up with one. (He has had a cold for several days, but no fever, so I gave him some ibuprofen and sent him to school.) When I got the call, he had pretty much just arrived. So the nurse and I agreed that he should rest awhile in the clinic and see if the ibuprofen kicked in.
Whether it did or didn’t is really hard to say. A headache complaint is a very difficult thing to disagree with. Especially when my other two kids are prone to them, too. But when I called back he said it was still hurting, so I picked him up and brought him home.
He was sounding pretty chipper, and I figured maybe he just need a Mommy day. We stopped at his favorite place for lunch and brought it home. He “rested” on the couch and watched Tom and Jerry.
And since he was home, and not feeling so badly after all, I told him we should work on the picture for his Valentine cards. Ethan wasn’t exactly thrilled, but when I asked him to make a silly face, he started to enjoy himself. And even when he is being silly, his sweet personality still shines through.

Heeee! That is awesome! You rocked the doodle, and he rocked the silly out of the park (with a side of sweet, I might add… )
So cute, Adrienne and I think an occasional “sick” day is just what the doctor should order! Great shot too!
I love that so many kids are watching “old” cartoons!! 🙂 My son watches all of the “oldies” – but LOVES them! (something about slapstick humor & 3 year olds??)
